ABOUT

Hi I’m Josh, I’m a 23 year old sample library producer, sound engineer and composer.

Over 2008 -2009 I was working with Birmingham City University’s Conservatoire (from where I am a graduate with honours in BSc music technology) on a sample library collection of ten baroque and renaissance early instruments. Throughout the project I recorded, edited and implemented the samples into a complete Kontakt library format. The Library is now complete and the team I worked with are currently searching to negotiate a licensing deal.

I have been interested in sampling through music production for the past eight or so years. However the first endeavor to create my own instruments began when undertaking my final year project at university. The project was to create a full collection of the universities Javanese Gamelan instruments.

I find that attention to detail through both sampled content and intuitive scripts/programming really makes the difference between sampled instruments that will pass and ones that will excel.

Through my work of the past year I have mainly been using Native Instrument’s Kontakt and as such the majority of my work is based on the Kontakt format although I also use EXS24. For more details of my previous projects, or if you would like to hire me for a project then please do not hesitate to contact me using the contact tab at the top of the page.
